Barry Rice Design creates modern, comfortable interiors with an emphasis on vintage and custom-made furnishings.
After a career in Chicago as a newspaper and magazine editor, then journalism professor, Barry moved to New York City and started his own residential interior design firm. He drew upon his years of experience renovating and decorating his own homes, as well as his expertise in modern vintage furniture, and began transforming the homes of family, friends, friends of friends, and referrals.
His business continues to grow, and projects now incorporate many of his own designs for custom cabinetry, furniture, rugs and accessories. In 2013 he opened Full Circle Modern, a Brooklyn showroom featuring vintage furniture and lighting by the most exciting names in late-20th-century design, including Paul Evans, Karl Springer, Vladimir Kagan, Tommi Parzinger, Harvey Probber, Edward Wormley and Milo Baughman.
Barry lives and works in an 1879 brownstone townhouse in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn.
